Abstract

Mt Morgan Geophysics & RVD2 Diamond Drilling Program.

In this reporting period an IP geophysical program comprising three lines was centred over the Northern Ringlet and Septum zones previously defined by the DMM geochemical grid and a Control Source Audio Frequency Magneto Telluric (CSAMT) geophysics program (lines 2,900mE & 2,800mE). The earlier work lead to drill designs reported in the 2008-2009 period. The 2D IP program was initiated in preference to a ZAMT helicopter telluric geophysical program initially recommended since higher resolution chargeability anomalies were considered necessary for more precise targeting compared wide system scale coverage.

However the small IP geophysical program of three lines proved somewhat inadequate. Under these circumstances the ZTEM program may have added the vital wider pluton environment context. Depth investigation design was a maximum of 600m. Following this work and target selection two deep diamond drill holes were completed as part of an RVD2 project, the interim drilling report is included in this report as Appendix1A-1 . Additional geochemical, spectral and petrographic information is only just at hand for which preliminary review is presented in this report.

DMMDD001 was drilled in the SE quadrant of the Northern Ringlet Anomaly zone with steep dip intending to intersect the Septum Zone. This hole did not lift as anticipated, failing to penetrate the “Septum” target. The hole did sample the western geochemical ring zone with near coincident CSAMT and IP conductivity anomalism. Host lithologies comprised highly fractured Pinnak sandstone formation with common pyrite veins, deeper phyrottite and occasional molybdenum and high silver with anomalous chalcopyrite and chalcocite in hypogene zones. Occasional dykes were intersected. The conclusion was DMMDD001 intercepted an outer pyrite-propylitic shell distal from an intrusive centre at depth, surrounding and overlying sediments acting as a passive fluid trap with perhaps a vertical leakage contributing to surface geochemical anomalism. At the base of the hole, highly anomalous silver is attributed to Septum Zone proximity.

DMMDD002 drilling results revealed high but narrow molybdenum grades, for example 23m @ 209.7ppm Mo and 2.11ppm Ag, including 2m @ 1,027.5ppm Mo, from 409m depth and 3m @ 0.18 g/t Au from 340.9m depth. Dykes and high level silicification textures resembling chalcedony (petrographically identified as epithermal styles of mineralisation), testifying to high emplacement levels. Possible alunite was also identified (as bright pink translucent crystals) within extensively fractured zones in DMMDD002, though spectral analyse did not register this mineral. The dyke environment in sections of DMMDD002 and 3 previous 3D magnetic susceptibility modelling comparisons with Unicorn also point to a high palaeo environment as do quartz textural information and petrography.
