Product description:AbstractLocated in Victoria’s regional western district in EL 4556, the Thursdays Gossan supergene copper deposit has an inferred resource of 10.6 million tonnes at 0.45% copper (about 48,000 tonnes of contained copper). This resource consists of a copper-enriched supergene zone, which is dominated by chalcocite and occurs between the depths of 20 metres to 80 metres below the surface. Funding provided by RVD1, enabled BCD Resources NL (BCD) to drill-test the contact between the serpentinite of the Mount Stavely Volcanic Complex and the sedimentary rocks of the Glenthompson Sandstone at Thursdays Gossan with four diamond holes. All four drillholes intersected disseminated, high-grade copper sulphide mineralisation, mainly chalcopyrite, associated with the structural contact between the serpentinite and the western margin of the volcanics. A subsequent orientation IP geophysical survey indicated that the sulphide mineralisation below 100 metres dips to the west. The objectives of the RVD2 diamond drilling programme were three new copper sulphide regional targets, Yarram Park, Toora Road and Patanga, although Toora Road, 4km along strike from Thursdays Gossan, was not drilled due to fire restrictions at the time that drilling was due to commence.
