Product description:

Introduction (extract) This project aims to build a 1:250 000 scale 3D model of the Melbourne Zone. The methodology employed has ensured that all associated surfaces closely abut up against each other, making this model water tight. This enables the model to be used for further analysis such as potential field inversions or fluid flow modelling. Also, the model is intended to represent the geology before the Late Devonian granites were emplaced. The reasoning for this was because much of the mineralisation within the Melbourne Zone occurred before the granite intrusions were emplaced. Therefore, we need to understand the crustal architecture before these plutons traversed through the crust. Outlined in this document is the geophysical and geological datasets used, and the software methodology utilised throughout the 3D modelling process.

Download The downloadable version of this report and accompanying 3D model are supplied as PDF files (2.5MB and 18.6MB). The model data is provided as DXF files contained within two ZIP files (43.1MB and 41.5MB). 3D model attributes are also supplied (ZIP 7.7MB). All downloads are large files and will take some time to download.
