Seamless Geology coverage for the 1:50,000 data was extended to include the remainder of the Melbourne 1:100,000, the southern 75% of the Ringwood 1:100,000 and both the Maroondah and Woori Yallock 1:25,000 traditional map sheet areas.




Seamless Geology Data Package includes:
  • Published reports.
  • A3 Map Book - complete 1:250 000 scale coverage - 2011.
  • Google Earth overlays and ERDAS image - 2011.
  • Detailed 1:50 000 scale geology dataset - for large areas of Victoria - 2014.
  • Regional 1:250 000 scale geology dataset - complete coverage of Victoria - 2011.

Note:
The Reports and Map Book are provided as PDF documents.

The Google Earth overlays are provided in KMZ format, one simply shows the seamless geology polygons, another displays these labelled and accompanied by fault and contact lines.
The ERDAS ECW format image shows the seamless geology polygons labelled and accompanied by fault and contact lines, draped over a DTM.

The Seamless Geology datasets are comprised of geological unit polygons, fault and contact lines, and associated attributes. These are provided in ArcGIS/ArcView and MapInfo formats.

The ESRI format data can also be viewed using the free ESRI product, ArcExplorer if you don't have access to a GIS software package.
