Product description:

Executive Summary:
The Geological Survey of Victoria, Surveyor-General Victoria and Geoscience Australia engaged Sander Geophysics Ltd to fly a regional-scale airborne gravity survey across Greater Melbourne and eastern Victoria (GMEV) including metropolitan, alpine and coastal areas between Portland and Mallacoota. 197,000 line-km of gravity data and 11,000 line-km of magnetic data were acquired between March 2022 and November 2024.
The survey delivers consistent quality and evenly distributed gravity coverage to improve the accuracy of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-derived height determination and to advance the understanding of Victoria’s geological architecture and earth resource potential. It also provides modern magnetic data across metropolitan Melbourne. This report summarises the project’s planning and operations including contractor reports and final survey results.
