Product description:AbstractIn 2010 Mantle Mining Corporation Limited (MMCL) received a $45,000 Rediscover Victoria Drilling (RVD) grant in the third round of this state government sponsored initiative. This served to cover part of the cost of a drill program to test for the presence or possibility of a new deeper seated style or styles of mineralization associated with a diorite plug (Anomaly 4) in a favourable geological and structural setting. Anomaly 4 is located in the Stirling / Exhibition area of the Haunted Stream goldfield in East Gippsland, Victoria, on MMCL’s EL3576 (see Figure 1). Two holes were drilled, HSD12 (425.7m) and HSD13 (140.8m) and a DHEM survey was undertaken down the deeper hole. Gold mineralization was very low; however epidote along with sericite, carbonate and clay (alt of feldspars) all of which were prevalent, and are characteristic minerals of propylitic alteration generally. This could be a possible fit for the propylitic alteration zone at the outer margins of an orebody.
