Seamless geology maps of the 3 western Victorian zones are included in a seperate PDF (5.6MB) Abstract This report deals with the 207 formally named outcropping rock units in the Western Victoria portion of the Seamless Geology of Victoria project. Literature references are provided for each, often with references to good descriptions. The only new name is Dwyer Granite, which replaces the Victoria Valley Granite, a name that is preoccupied by the Victoria Valley Batholith. Discussion of priority of rock unit names is provided in cases where two or more names exist for a single rock unit. Illustrations include a geological map of the entire zone, plus geological maps of selected areas to illustrate changes made to older mapping.
